Terms of Service

Effective 4 August 2026

Vitals is an educational risk-assessment tool, not a medical device. These terms cover what the app is, what it is not, and the rules for using it.

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using Vitals, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Educational use only — not medical advice

Vitals is strictly an educational risk-assessment tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment or clinical advice, is not a regulated medical device, and is not a substitute for assessment by a qualified healthcare professional.

Risk scores are population estimates produced by published research models. They describe what happened to groups of people with similar characteristics; they cannot tell you whether you personally will develop a condition. Always discuss results with a clinician, and never delay seeking care, stop medication or change treatment because of anything shown in this app.

If you have symptoms that worry you, or a critical reading such as very high blood pressure, seek urgent medical attention immediately.

3. Model attribution

The app contains independent implementations of published algorithms including QRISK3-2017, SCORE2-Diabetes, Framingham, Gail/BCRAT, CCRAT, PLCOm2012, PREMM5, MRAT and BRCAPRO/BOADICEA-style Mendelian models. It is not the official calculator for any of these and is not endorsed or certified by ClinRisk, the NHS, NICE, the ESC, the NCI, Dana-Farber, IBIS/Tyrer-Cuzick or CanRisk. QRISK is a registered trademark of ClinRisk Ltd.

4. Your account

You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Inaccurate inputs produce inaccurate estimates.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app to make clinical decisions for other people or to provide medical services.
  • Attempt to access another user's data, bypass security controls or reverse engineer the app.
  • Upload content you have no right to share, or content containing another person's health data without their permission.
  • Resell, scrape or redistribute the app's output as a clinical product.

6. Sharing with clinicians

Share links you create are read-only and expire. You are responsible for who you send them to. Anyone holding a valid, unexpired link can view the shared summary, so revoke a link as soon as it is no longer needed.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Paid tiers unlock additional features. Trials, prices and renewal terms are shown at checkout and are handled by our payment providers. Unless the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable, and you can cancel at any time to stop future charges.

8. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any decision made or care delayed on the basis of information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
